Syracuse, New York, September 3, 2018 - Stephanie Miner criticized Andrew Cuomo for using state resources to promote himself and his campaign for governor.
The Buffalo News detailed Cuomo’s use of state staff, mailings and transportation to deliver overtly political messages that have no other purpose than to bolster his reelection campaign.
“While people are looking for good-paying jobs this Labor Day, the governor is misusing state workers for his own benefit,” said Miner.
Miner joins calls for an investigation into former Cuomo aide Joe Percoco’s documented use of state resources while he was working on Cuomo’s 2014 campaign. Percoco has since been convicted of corruption charges related to other conduct during that period. Miner also calls for an independent board that would review ethics complaints, including those involving use of government resources for politicking.
“There’s a time and place for politics – and it’s not on government time and the taxpayer’s dime,” said Miner.
